Which single accessory can change your overall look?

If you guessed eyeglasses you are correct!!! Specs alone can make us look, smarter, hipper, cooler, or nerdier. They can enhance current style or be the single most impactful game-changer to a new look one may be trying to attain.

Why would someone want to change their look or style you may be asking...Have you watched any of the makeover shows on TLC or do you follow any influencers on YouTube or Instagram? Life transitions such as moving, starting a job or having a baby, job interviews and just trying to be one of cool kids, are all reasons why one may be in search of their next best look. Even if you don’t need prescription glasses, it has become mainstream to sport frames with plain lenses, just for the style they lend!

If you see me around town, I’m usually wearing frames of all different styles, that suit my mood, match my outfit, or reflect what I’m doing for the day. I’ve worn contacts from time to time, but fiddling with them makes me crazy, and in the end, not a single contact lens style or brand gives me the acuity that I get from glasses.

Wearing prescription glasses is a lot like wearing shoes. Not all frames go with every outfit and not all frames fit the activity. This is why it is okay to give yourself permission to own more than one pair of glasses...Some styles are sporty, others are dressy. Prescription sunglasses make it possible to read at the beach and see your cell phone outside. I have a pair I keep in my sewing room with a stronger magnifying strength than I need elsewhere. My husband has different glasses for golf, for the computer and for regular life. If you own different shoes for different activities you will definitely enjoy wearing a variety of eyeglasses that intuitively reflect your mood and lifestyle.

Many famous people are constantly trendsetting spectacular spectacles. Check out the Oprah Winfrey’s collection of chunky fashion-forward eyewear. Look for Brad Pitt sporting extremely cool frames in the October spread of GQ, Jennifer Anniston, Johnny Depp and of course the legendary Elton John are photographed in a range of glasses from hip to chic and everything in between!
